You’re going to love this one!

If you’ve ever used Lookalike audiences for your ads on Facebook and had any success with them, you’ll know that they are simply the best audiences to use. As long as your seed for the Lookalike audience is high quality you’ll be able to scale up relatively quickly using them. Last year Facebook released an update that let you create a Lookalike audience that used a seed from one country, and transfer it to another. So if for example your seed is 1000 UK customers, you could make a Lookalike audience of people similar to your UK customers but in the USA, or in France, or wherever you want to advertise to.

The problem with this

The problem with this is that if you wanted to target more than 1 country in the same ad set, you’d have to create your Lookalike audiences for each country individually and then select each audience when setting up your targeting. It was time consuming and messy, and most businesses would only target a few countries instead of a lot because it just wasn’t easy.

The update we’ve all been waiting for

Thankfully, Facebook have made the update that we’ve all been waiting for. Now when you’re setting up your Lookalike audience there’s a browse button on the right when you’re choosing your location and it allows you to select more than 1 country. You can now target countries from within:

  • Africa
  • Asia
  • Caribbean
  • Central America
  • Europe
  • North America
  • Oceania
  • South America
